An ode to Willie, number 24, the
Say-hey Kid.
Hat falling off his head as he races
Toward the center field wall.
Dust flying as he slides into third base.
An ode to Willie Mays
Pure of spirit
Fast and sure-handed
A Giant power, a lovable
Master of the magic game
A joy to remember:
Willie Mays
My favorite player
The best I ever saw
Hats off to Willie Mays
Nice, very nice. I wish I could have seen him play. I came into baseball about the time he was going out.
Great job,
Bill
I saw the catch! On our tiny fuzzy TV. I was six years old and I remember being so excited. I already loved Willie.
Good poem about Willie Mays. I also like Jolting Joe and would have to add Reggie Jackson and Shoeless Joe.
Thanks. Joe D for sure. But Willie was my childhood idol. Thanks for the comment (the baseball discussions are one of life’s great pleasures)
Say. you were my 24th view today. Say hey!
Congratulations! You hit a homer. 🙂
