An Ode to Victor Hugo

An Ode to Victor Hugo

One hundred and twenty-five years
Since your death
(The funeral was attended by two million Frenchmen. I saw the photo)

The greatest, the grandest, the most prodigious writer of ‘em all
(he wrote 20 pages of prose or eight pages of verse every day)

An ode to Les Miserables and the glory of Jean Valjean

A star was created in the nineteenth century.
May you shine on in the winter skies, Victor Hugo

Author: Bumba

Shown on a recent visit to the Big Apple, Bumba has written two literary novels and has recorded two CD soundtrack albums to accompany them. Check it out on Bumba Books.

  1. he wrote 20 pages of prose every day: so we are waiting for your next book!
or, maybe better, 20 songs arranged with harp and piano every year?

        1. I have a Library section on the right hand side of blog page. It says there are 166 songs, but there are a lot of repeats. There is no content list or sub-categories, which I suppose I should add. I’ve noticed that no one ever notices the “Library” section, and nearly nobody reads anything except the latest posts. Yes, I have a lot of songs up there already – as do you. I don’t think anyone is going to touch le grand homme. Isaac Asimov wrote a stupendous amount of books.

  2. Sorry, typo, it shouldve been written:
