While we’re
still celebrating the memory of Okemah Oklahoma’s favorite son – the voice of the people who we remember so very fondly on the 100th anniversary of his birth – I thought I’d sing another of my favorite Guthrie songs. Actually I’ve already posted this song three months ago, on 4.15.2012. But since re-posting may seem or smell a bit like composting, I just did it again. So here’s Do Re Mi – another Dust Bowl ditty where Woody provides some sardonic advice to would-be immigrants.

“…Woody provides some sardonic advice to would-be immigrants…”
Yes, it’s still a timely song.
great song!
Yes it is.
Just a fantastic song. I love the vintage photographs juxtaposed with the 21st century imagery. Nice work;
Thanks
I saw Mellencamp do that one on TV. It was terrific. It’s just a great song.
Another great one. I was first exposed to this song by hearing the John Mellencamp version.
“California is the garden of Eden, a paradise to live in or to see…”
Love that song! I also love “Mean Talking Blues” and “Deporte”
