Stephen Baum’s first novel about the streets of the Bronx and growing up in the early 1970’s.
A poignant New York love story.

In addition, Bumbastories is proud to make available both the book Up in the Bronx as well as the author’s own original soundtrack CD entitled Up in the Bronx and Down in L.A. This “aesthetically rewarding” acoustic soundtrack is an “excellent complement” to the book. This combination of a novel together with a music CD on which all songs are performed by the author is, to the best of our knowledge, the first of its kind!
Here’s the opening song:
In the name of economic recovery (mine) and a good square deal, this unique fusion of literary & musical delights is available at the historically unprecedented bargain price of $20. That’s right, $20 (which includes shipping and handling).
Sorry. This offer is not currently available. Contact the author directly at bumbas24at yahoo.com to obtain CD.
Where has this been all my NYC life? Can’t wait!
What a nice compliment! Thank you. Do you have the book?
Not yet Bumba, but I am going to get it. You have been hiding yourself under a Bronx bushel all this time!
Hello Stephen,
It gives me great pleasure to display your book on my blog side bar. This is a small token of my appreciation.
All good wishes, my friend,
Eric
Thank you, Eric
Hi Stephen: Someone sent me this link today since I did a posting on Dion, a Bronx Boy. Here are The Bronx Wanderers: http://a-c-t-s-inc.com/bronx/#
I forgot to mention that i noticed my review hadn’t appeared on the .com version of Amazon so I reposted and it has remained up so far…
That’s great, Steve.Thanks.
Very interesting. Haven’t heard of this one yet. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Thanks for visiting Up in the Bronx. Here’s a photo I took of the book on the shelves of the Los Angeles Central Library. https://bumbastories.wordpress.com/category/up-in-the-bronx/
at first I got drowned in your wonderful sounds: guitar, harp, blues voice – like Mississippi John Hurt singing “Quiet Days in Clichy” parallel to Henry Miller’s Sexus Nexus Plexus. Then I switched to amazon reading there about your book and found some of my old book reviews, could be an illustrator for your next book:

Really nice music, Stephen. I listened to the two above while I read the sample of your book at Amazon. Nice job. I’ll definitely be back to listen to more.
Thank you!
Will check this out on Amazon later in the week.
