Goin’ to San Francisco Again

I know, I blogged this one only a few weeks ago. But I was playing it again today and I think it’s a fun song, an easy song, to play. So join in.

I change the lyrics a bit each time, and you could substitute your own words and make it up as you go along too, but the song, the chord progression, seems to roll out easily. It’s a familiar rock and roll progression, so there’s nothing original here.

Goin down to San Francisco/Gonna have my fun/When I get down to San Francisco/My song be sung

We went up to San Francisco/Just to have some fun/But when we got back from SF/Everything was gone

Our village lay bare and deserted/The place looked like a ruin/There must be something wrong/with the way every body been doin’

So I’m going down to San Francisco

Gonna breathe that ocean air/See that Pacific ocean shining/Good people everywhere

Goin on down to San Francisco/Gonna have some fun/ When I get to San Francisco/My song be sung

Take it on down to San Francisco/Take it on down to San Francisco
